"AS220 has earned a national reputation synonymous with an egalitarian, accessible approach to creative community – offering an alternative to the obstacles of conventional presenting venues. We provide an inclusive forum for any and all Rhode Island artists to share their original artwork embracing the full spectrum of the arts: theatre, dance, poetry, photography, music, printmaking, creative "hacking", painting, puppetry, and beyond." - AS220 website

The Dunkin Donuts Center

"Located in the heart of Providence, The Dunkin' Donuts Center is New England's premier events arena managed by SMG. Home to the AHL Providence Bruins and the Big East Providence College Friars, it is host to various sporting events, major concerts, family shows, and trade shows. Local 121

"Local 121 is part of a landmark preservation project led by AS220. The arts organization bought the 24,000 square foot former Dreyfus Hotel in 2005 and renovated it into an affordable live-and-work space for artists, with an art gallery on the ground floor and a restaurant- Local 121. The Dreyfus hotel, built in the 1890's on Washington and Mathewson streets, served as dormitory from 1975-2000, and had been vacant ever since. Enter the Millers. State Senator, Joshua Miller, and his wife Nancy Miller envisioned a restaurant that would not only stand out from the crowd and help define the downtown area as a "foodie" haven, but more importantly, create a restaurant that is ecologically, culturally, and agriculturally sustainable. Local 121 is aptly named for it's commitment to all things local as well as our physical location at 121 Washington Street." - Local 121 website

Lupo's Heartbreak Hotel

"In December of 2003 the third incarnation of Lupo's opened in the Strand Building on Washington Street. This space is larger and even more concert oriented than the second club. More recent shows have been Wilco, Justin Beiber, Flaming Lips, White Stripes, Avett Brothers, Marilyn Manson and The Fray. The club shares this space with the Roxy nightclub, a separately owned business." - Lupo's Heartbreak Hotel website

Providence Performing Arts Center

"The Providence Performing Arts Center is located at 220 Weybosset Street. It is the second largest theatre of its kind in New England. It is a 3,100-seat, world class venue located in the heart of Providence's arts and entertainment district. The theatre became known as the "Jewel of Weybosset Street" after its doors opened as Loew's State Movie Palace in 1928." - PPAC website

Providence Public Library
